Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a versatile Machine Operator at our Lynnwood, WA site!
The individual in this role will handle machine operation within the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production cell and will also flex over to support assembly on Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) in the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Center of Excellence (COE).
As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for setting up, operating and troubleshooting Surface Mount Pick & Place, Screen Printing, Automated Optical Inspection and Reflow Oven machines used in circuit card assembly. You will be under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex manufacturing processes utilizing automated equipment and hand assembly. You will perform semi-routine equipment set-up, operation, and adjustment as well as ensuring processes and equipment remain within acceptable company manufacturing standards. You will also perform quality auditing, testing, and troubleshooting functions and maintain necessary documentation.
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
Load component trolleys using hand-held barcode scanner
Program and Operate screen printer
Inspect boards using a microscope
Run SMT Pick & Place machines
Troubleshoot pickup and placement errors
Operate Automated Inspection Machine
Operate Reflow Oven
Service work cell and end item customers as needed
Flex work schedule to maintain processes and work flow as needed
Perform PRI (Post Reflow Inspection)
Rework assemblies and log data as needed
Assembler Responsibilities:
Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, sub-assemblies, or completed assemblies
Test finished assemblies
Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery
Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals
Identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process
Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement
Cross-train to work on at least 3 products
Complete job-related company training courses
Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise
Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits
Perform inventory cycle counts
May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Strong verbal and written communication in the English language;
Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams;
Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)
Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required;
Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity;
Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness;
Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume setting
4+ years of Assembly/Machining Operation experience in a manufacturing environment
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent; Fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience
Preferred:
Ability to do part marking, wrapping and packaging of finished goods for transport to other work areas
Ability to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately and to close work orders
Ability to perceive and predetermine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment (Personal Protective Equipment) to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
