Job Description:

The Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries group is part of Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase and focuses on companies typically with revenues of over $500mm which require traditional banking services in addition to investment banking products. Our competitive advantage is that we cover this market in a truly unique way - through a partnership between our corporate bankers and investment bankers who together build relationships with our clients and offer customized financial solutions. Our investment bankers bring strategic ideas to clients, which are executed with investment banking products. Our corporate bankers provide commercial banking products and structure loan facilities for our clients. This approach brings together integrated financial services ranging from cash management to raising capital and partners closely with Investment Banking, Corporate Derivatives Marketing, Treasury Services and Asset and Wealth Management, among others.

Each CB registered banker is required to hold the FINRA Series 79 (Limited Representative - Investment Banking) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam) Licenses. In addition to the Series 79 and Series 63, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam is a general knowledge exam and co-requisite to representative level exams required for newly registered employees or for those whose registration has lapsed.

The final level of the position will be determined at the time of an offer.

Responsibilities of an Analyst

As a Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries Analyst, you will:


  • Prepare presentation and marketing materials for use in client meetings and transaction execution, covering topics such as financing alternatives, capital markets activity, capital structure advisory, treasury services, and derivatives
  • Participate in stages of a syndicated and leveraged finance investment banking deal cycle, from the pitch phase through execution
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate creditworthiness of a client and the impact of various capital structures
  • Conduct industry research and comparable company and transaction analysis
  • Coordinate efforts with deal team members and product partners across the Commercial Bank and the Corporate & Investment Bank

Training and development

If you have not already done so, you will participate in our Investment Banking training program, giving you key technical and practical knowledge. You'll also attend an additional Credit and Treasury Services training program in Chicago to round out your skills. This combination of training is unique to our program and will provide you with a foundation advise complex clients across our full product suite.

You will also have the opportunity to hear from and network with senior leaders and spend time with peers from programs across the bank at philanthropic and group events.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
  • Coursework in finance, accounting or economics a plus
  • Preferred 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale
