Manager, Innovations & New Business Opportunities

Irvine, CA/ Full-time

Your responsibilities

Manage innovation research, scout new business partners and business opportunities (NBO). Project management for innovation launch efforts as an independent contributor for the Region North America (RNA).                                                                                                                     

• Lead consumer and new business trend intelligence that report technology & innovation conferences, startups, smart home and new business models.

• Conduct innovation research for North America relating to home appliances and home automation.

• Develop activities and coordinate events such as, innovation forums, workshops, trade shows and more.

• Evaluate new business opportunities and scout strategic partners deriving from market trends and innovative technology.

• Be the primary consultant and liaison for Digital Business Unit (DBU), Corporate Technical Innovation (CTI), Robert Bosch North America (RBNA), Regional Startups and RNA strategic topics.

• Run pilot projects with start-up partners

• Develop products, services and business models through innovation funnels.

• Create final documentation to introduce market developments.

• Coach RNA members in agile development and innovation practices (new business sprinters)

• Be the primary internal and external contact for BSH-RNA to fulfill all mentioned tasks.

• Consult and participate in Regional Innovation Strategy (representing NBO and cross-category interests) alongside with product category Innovation Managers.

• May handle and resolve more complex requests and issues.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or Business Science Required


• Master’s Degree/MBA Preferred


• 7-10 years in R&D, Innovation, Technology development and top management consulting


• 5-7 years of Project Management, Strategy, Consulting, Sales, Marketing and/or Finance


• Skilled in project management and launch management as well as proficiency in financial modeling


• Broad knowledge of and direct experience with business processes


• Ability to recognize current and future key trends, derived business opportunities and implications for BSH. A BSH “Ambassador”


• Areas of expertise in new business models and advanced technologies, e.g. Internet of Things; robotics, 3D printing


• Able to direct and coordinate multicultural interdisciplinary cross-functional teams


• Experience in agile development and innovation processes


• Personable – must be able to effectively manage a large internal and external network


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills


• Experience in preparing and presenting board level presentations


• Experience working in innovative and high competitive fast moving environment


• Travel Percentage: 50%
