General Description: Primary responsibility for planning and implementing a program of activities designed to meet the varied needs and interests of the residents.
Duties:
• Develops and publishes a monthly activities calendar and newsletter.
• Organizes, conducts, and evaluates all planned activities to assure the activities meet the needs of the residents.
• Creates and posts daily sheets and monthly outing flyers that coincide with the current month's calendar and newsletter.
• Creates sign-up sheets for all outings.
• Keeps bulletin boards updated.
• Encourages resident participation in activities. Interviews new and existing residents to find their interests.
• Develops and/or procures the skills and supplies necessary to execute all activity programs.
• Maintains supplies and equipment that allow residents to participate in self-directed activities.
• Schedule a variety of programs including arts and crafts, educational programs, outings, special interest groups, leisure time activities, entertainment/social programs, and religious activities.
• Assists in planning and implementing special event programs.
• Manages and monitors the department budget. Operates within established budgetary guidelines.
• Assists in planning for transportation needs in conjunction with the Driver and/or outside resources.
• Supervises, trains, and disciplines staff in the performance of their duties.
• Collaborates with other departments and outside resources to develop and implement health and wellness programs.
• Reports significant incidents to the Executive Director.
• Attends and participates in committees, training programs and staff meetings.
• Complies with all state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability and Experience requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have criminal record clearance.
• Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the position.
• Must be able to exercise good judgment and make competent decisions.
• Must be able to maintain a high level of mental concentration.
• Must have a current basic First Aid card.
Education Requirements
• High school diploma is preferred.
