Job Description:

We're looking for a VP of Product Design for our Innovation Accelerator to help create and drive the next generation of financial experiences for JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC). Whether observing users, co-creating with stakeholders, or working with fellow team members, you are passionate about representing the human perspective and translating insight into tangible and delightful customer experiences at the intersection of digital products and financial services. Your design work will have reach and impact on a massive scale in the financial services sector while working in a creative, dynamic and fast pace environment.
Location


  • Our office is located in Palo Alto. However, due to Covid-19, most of us are currently working remotely. When the team returns to the office it is expected the candidate to be based in Palo Alto.
Role & Responsibilities

  • Participate in the end-to-end design process contributing to the generation, critique and iteration of digital products and services across various financial touch points, channels and entire eco-systems.
  • Plan and conduct user research with current and potential customers, in close collaboration with design and business leaders in the organization.
  • Translate and bridge research to tangible design opportunities and outputs (often times playing at the intersection of UX, research and service design).
  • Facilitate co-creative sessions (e.g. user research, brainstorming, concepting, validation) with key stakeholders.
  • Create tailored artifacts such as presentations, reports, visual maps, prototypes, story boards, service blueprints, journey maps, personas, etc. to help our stakeholders understand and drive actionable paths forward.
  • Deliver wireframes, screen flows, high-fidelity screens, and visual assets to support the product development process.
  • Create click-through prototypes, presentations, and videos to showcase product vision and get buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Drive design thought leadership internally and externally across the firm.
Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Interaction Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Service Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related fields.
  • +6 years industry experience with demonstrated track record of creating new digital concepts/products/services.
  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience.
  • Proven experience designing applications that balance user needs, commercial interests, and technological constraints
  • Experience working in multi-faceted and complex stakeholder environments; working closely with product, business, technical and design leaders
  • Ability to concept and create prototypes (even in lo-fidelity) to learn and improve your ideas
  • Proficiency in design, prototyping, and presentation software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite, and Keynote.
  • Understanding of UX design principles and ability to bridge service experiences and touchpoints within a digital and product design context
  • Strong visual communicator with ability to communicate abstract design concepts visually, in a beautiful, clear and engaging manner.
The softer required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an ambiguous and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment balancing and managing diverse stakeholder needs
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to present up to C-level executives
  • Ability to collaborate across various functional areas in the organizations and make the case for change through design
Nice to have

  • Experience within corporate and/or external innovation consulting firms focused on digital design and innovation
  • Proficiency in design thinking and service design methods/mindsets
  • Any technical knowledge in product development lifecycle, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience in the application of design systems (e.g. Material Design)
  • Knowledge/past experiences in financial services
