Job Description:

Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate requirements definition, design, testing, and implementation of new data delivery and analytic capabilities that address specific business needs.
  • Define data (metadata), identify systems of record and authoritative sources, create data quality rules, create data flow diagrams, and apply firm-wide standards and controls.
  • Create conceptual and logical models to describe a particular domain of data and use these models to inform the physical design of data-related projects; consult enterprise and industry models.
  • Profile, wrangle, and prepare data from diverse sources to support analytical efforts; write data transformation logic in languages such as Python, SAS, or Scala.
  • Conduct business process analysis and identify data needed to support the processes. Determine whether the firm's data is fit for use within a given process.
  • Conduct research and development with emerging technologies, determine their applicability to business use cases, document & communicate their recommended use in the firm.
  • Effectively prioritizes own work and proactively seeks advice
  • Escalates issues quickly and helps to resolve; solution focused
  • Follows procedures to strengthen the control framework and meets risk and compliance obligations
  • Collaborates with team and others to achieve common goals
  • Cultivates partnerships and collaborates across teams
  • Effectively solves problems and shares ideas for improvement
  • Understands and applies knowledge of role-related risks
  • Keeps abreast of current regulatory requirements applicable to responsibilities
  • Makes sound decisions in the best interest of the firm according to risk management practices and policies

Qualifications and Required Skills:


  • 3+ years of data warehouse, data governance, data architecture, or data analytics experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
  • Understand SQL and/or SAS programming language
  • Experience using common relational database systems; i.e., Teradata and Oracle
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills while demonstrating flexibility and creativity in approach and solution
  • Ability to network effectively with colleagues at all levels of technical expertise
  • Ability to frame communications on work product that are persuasive and include partner context to all levels in the organization
  • Exhibits a strong understanding and curiosity of a client's business and actively seeks input to anticipate client needs and effectively meets or exceeds them
  • Demonstrates full appreciation of and compliance with regulatory obligations

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience in at least one data technology; i.e., data warehousing, ETL, data quality concepts, Business Intelligence tools and analytical tools, unstructured data, machine learning, etc.
  • Masters with 2+ years advanced analytics experience or PhD with 1+ years advanced analytics experience in large data environment preferred
  • Experience with Agile (scrum) methodologies and big data disciplines
  • Some knowledge of Hadoop-related technologies and their applications
  • Proficient/Experience with Python, Alteryx, Spark, and/or HIVE languages
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling
  • Experience in a Credit Card environment
