DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Provide front line production support, proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, security, maintenance, and incident management for critical middleware suite of applications. Work closely with clients, vendors, other incident management teams, and technical staff by following best practices to identify and resolve Priority/Severity 1 production issues that impact Middleware applications space and perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to provide long-term solutions. Maintain stability of transactions that come to middleware layer from Chase.com website and other internal applications and troubleshoot middleware, server, load balancer, application, network, and database issues on all environments. Debug issues in the production environment through analyzing logs (JVM and application), collection metrics (Heap, thread, Garbage Collector, and Operation system), and leveraging app monitoring tools (Splunk and Wily) and create solutions for sustained resiliency. Perform validation health checks, administrative and middleware technical support to application development teams during production deployments. Partner with application development teams to understand new projects and cross-pipeline requirements and set L2 support expectations. Serve as a liaison with internal monitoring teams to ensure appropriate alerting is in place. Provide administrative and middleware technical support to application development teams during production code deployments. Build auto-monitoring and auto-refresh dashboards to provide real-time data metrics that come to middleware layer from Chase.com, Chase Mobile apps, ATM, branches, vendors, and call centers that detect volume patterns and generate notifications before software failure, which will minimize customer impact. Develop automation micro services and workflows for maintenance activities and resiliency events. Serve as subject matter expert in scripting for the automation tasks. Provide batch support using Scheduling tools, such as Control-M and Autosys. Create and maintain documentation, including detailed analysis into the application end to end flow and infrastructure stack for various critical applications. Improve the stability and performance of the application portfolio by identifying system bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvements. Communicate complex functional and technology solutions across differing audiences, including technical, managerial and external clients/vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in Middleware engineering, Middleware production support, software development/engineering, systems engineering, or related experience, OR Master's degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, or related field, plus 2 years of experience in Middleware engineering, Middleware production support, software development/engineering, systems engineering, or related experience.

Skills Required: Must have demonstrated knowledge of WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, Apache, IIS, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, and Data Stage. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Unix Shell, BASH scripting, PERL, and Python. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Websphere Message Broker. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, SFTP, and Java/J2EE concepts. Must have demonstrated knowledge of monitoring tools, including Tivoli, CA Wily Introscope, and Splunk. Must have demonstrated knowledge of ITSM Change Management processes, HP Service manager, JIRA, and SharePoint. Must have demonstrated knowledge of SSL administration and CA Site Minder SSO. Must have demonstrated knowledge of IBM Webview MQ and F5/Cisco Load balancer. Must have demonstrated knowledge of the following operating systems (OS): AIX, REDHAT, Linux, and Windows. Must have demonstrated knowledge of scheduling job tools, including Control-M, Autosys, and Crontab. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Unit test runner, SOAP UI, and GIT.
