The goal of the Firmwide Business Resiliency (FBR) Team is to ensure firm wide oversight on business resiliency. Business resiliency focuses on ensuring that the firm can maintain key business processes, systems and support functions in the event of disruptive events.
Control Management (CM) CM maintains a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that align managers with each line of business, function and region to mitigate operational risk. The team focuses on four areas: Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies and Control Governance & Reporting.
As a Resiliency function Control Manager Vice President, you'll be responsible for leading and building out an enhanced control framework which supports a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment.
An expert in Business Resiliency with strong demonstrable expertise in Resiliency Planning, Testing and Crisis Management, the candidate will support the Resiliency teams by critically evaluating resiliency program design and end to end execution. The incumbent will be responsible to assess execution of threat and risk assessments for firmwide resiliency processes, functions, locations and initiatives; and be able to accurately and intelligently articulate risks, threats and vulnerabilities. Internal partnership is essential, especially within Firmwide Business Resiliency (FBR) and various LOBs/Functions.
Control Management focuses on four areas:
Control design and expertise
Risks and controls identification/assessment
Control breaks and resolution
Control governance & reporting
Demonstrated understanding and experience in business resiliency including business continuity, disaster recovery and ideally coordinating drills and table top exercises
Provide leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment, including control breaks and resolutions, to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk
Prepare reporting/content for senior management consumption e.g Business Review Forums, etc.
Engage with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions
Ability to analyse, communicate, articulate Business Continuity governance and compliance trends and program requirements
Review and analyze resiliency metrics and reporting (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support business-related initiatives and strategies
Effective relationship management with key stakeholders in Resiliency including Senior Business Managers and other senior stakeholders, key business and corporate sector stakeholders and Business Resiliency coordinators
Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
Individual must be a self-starter and ambitious to develop in a fast-moving firmwide function, that is forward-looking and Service Delivery oriented
Additional Responsibilities for Managers:
Manage and motivate a team in executing to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk
Provide ongoing feedback and training and develop employees on risk concepts and the application to risk and control evaluation
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
7+ years of experience in Resiliency function preferred
7+ years of experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred
7+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred
Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create, and evaluate a Risk & Control Self-Assessment in conjunction with business partners
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel Word, Excel Word, Excel Word, Excel Word, Excel Word, Excel)
Business knowledge - ability to understand the business / knowledge of regulation surrounding business
Communication/presentation - excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner
