Our business

The Platform Development Team is part of J.P. Morgan's Equities Structuring team and leads the end-to-end delivery of platforms used by sales, trading and external clients. This includes leading commercial opportunity assessment, defining product strategy, product design, resource alignment and leading end-to-end implementation.

Opportunity

We are looking for a Vice President to join the Platform Development Team. The responsibilities of the role include defining and driving the implementation of strategic initiatives for the Equities business. The role will require working with various business and stakeholders including representatives from Front Office, Technology, Operations, Legal, Business Management and control functions to ensure effective implementation and governance.

Job Background/context:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation for new initiatives, including stakeholder management at forums of all levels of seniority.
  • Close partnership with colleagues to understand business opportunities and gaps, processes and workflows, to develop and deliver strategic platform and product solutions
  • Development of business requirements, technical specifications and implementation in partnership with the respective business users and technology teams
  • Establish appropriate governance, including control processes and procedures, for the new business to be supported as defined
  • This role will be based in New York and may require some global travel as and when necessary.

    Skills & Qualifications

    In filling this role we are seeking a candidate with an excellent work ethic and the relevant skills and experience to complement the existing team. The ideal candidate will have the following:


    • 3-5 years' experience working in financial institutions, preferably Investment banks, mandatory
    • Strong product knowledge in Equity Derivatives
    • Proven, highly organized and disciplined project management skills, and experience handling the delivery of large scale projects in complex operating environments
    • Demonstrable understanding of system architecture and technology capabilities from both a tactical and strategic viewpoint
    • Self-directed, highly motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to partner with a broad range of people
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Proven ability to work under pressure
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
