Nestlé Purina is expanding! Introducing Nestlé Purina's newest factory in the U.S. - in Hartwell, Georgia - just shy of 110 miles northeast of Atlanta. We opened a state of the art distribution center in 2018 and production facility in 2019 - our first new factory in over 20 years! We're thrilled to be joining the Hartwell, GA community and to welcome as many as 240 new members to the Nestlé Purina family by 2023. With more than 100 acres, this 500,000 square foot facility will serve as our most versatile facility with the ability to switch product lines faster and more efficiently than we have ever done before; all while distributing the Nestlé Purina brands our customers trust and pets love!

The Nestle Purina Maintenance Team is looking to add team members with both mechanical and electrical backgrounds to help support the larger Maintenance Work Group (MWG). We are seeking to build a team of technicians with a variety of skillsets including but not limited to general electrical and mechanical troubleshooting (motors, PLCs, conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical wiring, welding, and bearing replacement). As a Maintenance Technician for our new Hartwell, GA facility, you will have the opportunity to contribute your skills and background to a collaborative, cross-functional team. You will train on new equipment and aid in the execution of both planned maintenance and predictive maintenance activities. In addition, our technicians provide technical leadership and support for the production and operations departments. As part of our cooperative culture, Nestle Purina challenges maintenance team members to work proactively with all departments to train and transfer knowledge of basic maintenance activities such as cleaning, inspection, lubrication. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for following all plant safety rules and work rules. Your primary responsibility in all of the work you perform is to be safe.


  • Execute Planned Maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations.


  • Create, revise and improve parts kits working with salary planner/scheduler to build part kits into SAP.


  • Work to reduce unplanned stoppages through effective root cause analysis.


  • Provide on-shift electrical and mechanical troubleshooting support to identify and repair technical breakdowns


  • Cultivate (through active participation) an environment that helps to build and strengthen the Maintenance Team and the larger MWG (Maintenance Work Group).


  • Support a positive and collaborative culture with the expectation that Zero Safety Incidents, Zero Quality Defects, and Zero Preventable Stoppages is achievable.


  • Build rapport with and provide technical leadership to the production and operations teams in order to share responsibility for basic maintenance activities including cleaning, inspection and lubrication.


  • Utilize our SAP system to properly log maintenance related information including work time, parts issuing, failure logs, and work order notes.


Other job duties, as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

Education: High School diploma or GED Equivalent


Experience: 1+ year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military or related environment OR a two year technical degree completed
