Vice President for Facilities Management and Physical Environments at The Kendal Corporation

Job Description:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful VP for Facilities Management and Physical Environments candidate will be one who can foster the Kendal Corporation's values, by working with system Facilities and Environmental Services teams, corporate staff and executive directors in optimizing the management of corporate and affiliate physical assets; in  supporting the operations and maintenance of facilities, environmental services, laundry, transportation, security, and grounds; in the planning, construction, and design of renovations and new buildings; in the property and building assessments for new affiliations; and in the application of sustainable design and operational practices. Extensive and frequent travel is required for this position.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in the building management of complex real estate projects such as hospitals, continuing care retirement communities, colleges, or universities.

  • Demonstrated experience in sustainable design and building operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • FMP or FMA credential.

  • LEED and CFI credentials preferred.

COMPETENCIES


  • Advanced and applied technical knowledge of building systems and operations.

  • Solid knowledge of building plans, budgeting, construction, contract negotiation, and materials from foundation to finish.

  • Proven track record managing multiple projects.

  • Experience building team with both internal and external constituents.

  • Solid positive coaching experiences.

  • Ability to engage local community members, affinity groups, and prospective residents proactively through public meetings, presentations, focus groups, and other methods.

  • Committed to diversity and inclusion.

  • Effective leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Basic computer skills required, familiarity with maintenance/housekeeping software preferred.
