Job Description:

This position is located in Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA or El Segundo, CA.  Relocation assistance is not available.

Overall Purpose: Performs quality and reliability engineering to qualify hardware and software products to exceed our customer’s expectations for long term performance and reliability.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:  Performs the following responsibilities:
General SME to weigh in on Supply Chain efforts from an Engineering/Tech perspective
Coordinates NPI (New Product Introduction) into RL (release logistics)
Advocate for RL with product team for new launch products (ie – up front design input, where new products can cause RL challenges)
Communicates potential quality issues to Supply Chain leadership when the issue may impact supply chain functions. Examples – container devices with quality issues, delay launches of new products, reflash of devices.
Coordinates investigations into personal property damage claims due to equipment failure
Quality metrics owner
Review/ monitor tester yield rates and performance
Review/ monitor BB/video device yield rates and performance
Bounce review and initiatives to lower customer impacting issues
Monitor product performance in the field and work closely with cross functional partners, OEMs and third-party vendors to perform failure analysis and drive correction action to ensure overall business return rates are met. Includes team leadership of cross functional teams, business negotiations, program management, budgeting responsibilities, and overall program ownership.
Requires an understanding of the significance of time to market, risk mitigation, contingency plans, return on investment, strong communication skills, analysis and problem solving, and supplier management methods.
Strong skill sets for doing data gathering and analytics.  
Able to use engineering skills to identify both product and processes that are driving suboptimal business performance and use engineering skills and data knowledge to determine how to improve.
Able to work with cross functional groups and internal and external partners to identify data sources, collect relevant data and create meaningful and accurate quality metrics
Able to develop fully functional prototype data collection and analytics tools that can be transferred from the Engineering project realm and moved to the reporting realm where they can be operationalized and sustained.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, Quality/Reliability Engineering, Mathematics or other technical / engineering equivalent.

Preferred:  Masters or PHD in Quality/Reliability Engineering.

Preferred: American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification; Quality and/ or Reliability Engineering Certification

Experience:  5+ years of relevant experience

Supervisory: No.
