We're looking for a Warehouse and Inventory Supervisor to oversee up to 10-15 office and jockey associates in our Marysville, OH Distribution Center! Marysville,Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, OH.
If you enjoy a fast-paced, high energy and seasonal manufacturing environment then you will fit in well as a Warehouse and Inventory Supervisor for Scotts Miracle-Gro. On a day-to-day basis you are responsible for all aspects of shipping and coordinating outbound trucks from our production plant.
What you'll do in this role:
Lead 3 shift operation within the Shipping Office at the Marysville Distribution Center.
Direct our office associates to ensure timely shipping and receiving.
Oversee yard jockey associates involved in internal trailer movements for the Chem Plant
Work with other Warehouse Supervisors to create shipping schedules that are conducive to their staffing levels.
Utilize SAP to monitor inventory and allocate product for shipments; make adjustments when required.
Train and develop associates in the front and back office functions, as well as Outbound Scheduling functions.
Will be required to utilize internal and external TMS applications as required for shipments.
Regularly communicate with customers and carriers to report performance and ensure compliance.
Train and enforce Scotts Miracle-Gro policies and procedures.
Ensure a safe and compliant work area.
Monitor and order services or supplies as needed.
Manage overtime requirements based on manpower needs that are balanced by the budget.
Work with the returns coordinator on processing returned product.
Set and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
What you'll need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related study.
At least 5 years experience in warehouse supervision or supervision in a production environment.
Basic understanding of distribution, transportation, inventory control, and freight routing.
Computer skills including, but not limited to, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
Strong leadership skills and a highly effective communicator with great time management.
The ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and/or hours within a seasonal business. Including weekends during our busy season.
Strong administrative and planning skills.
SAP experience is preferred.
