We are looking for a Direct-to-Consumer Assistant Brand Managerwho will grow at our Corporate Office, Marysville, Ohio.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role on a dynamic digital marketing team with a primary focus on launching and nurturing digitally native brands. This role is for you if you have an innate entrepreneurial spirit, are ecommerce minded and have a desire to launch and maintain digital brands of varying maturities - from startups to prestigious National Brands. You, as the Direct to Consumer Assistant Brand Manager, will be responsible for supporting new product development, annual marketing plans, media, merchandising, social/community development and performance tracking against KPIs. In the dynamic world of digital, you will flex both creative and analytical skills. This role is a fit for a well-rounded digital marketing generalist who is curious and enjoys a startup culture. Simply put, developing and implementing strategic plans to drive awareness and profitability of digital brands will be what drives you!

In this role you will:

  • Lead brand project initiatives across all elements of the marketing mix, interacting with and managing/influencing other functions within Scotts to deliver against project objectives.
  • Assist with key areas that directly influence the success of the business, including forecasting, inventory levels, packaging, point of sale, and sales collateral materials.
  • Complete key business analyses including: marketplace/share, competitive assessment, volume builds, capacity assessment, promotion evaluation, SKU rationalization, pricing/sizing analysis, and market research analysis and implications.
  • Work with internal and external creative resources to develop packaging, and advertising & promotion plans and materials that support key marketing initiatives, delivered on time and on budget.
  • Drive business and marketing priorities for agencies and/or internal partners to execute to
  • Manage product introduction process through Company's product life cycle system to ensure that SKUs are set up correctly and with appropriate lead time to meet committed ship-ready dates.
  • Liaise with operations on key product initiatives to ensure 100% product availability.
  • Manage project budgets to ensure delivery of brand EBITA.
  • Take initiative and have a bias for action to drive for results

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business and/or marketing, MBA preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with branding, digital marketing, strategic development and creative problem solving. Strategy work in an agency or in house marketing role is a plus.
  • Extensive project management experience and proven ability to multitask.
  • Experience in media planning, advertising, creative and concept development.
  • Experience building compelling online experiences to drive consumer engagement and conversion
  • Compelling communications with the ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas.
  • Critical thinking with the ability to analyze data, identify trends and recognize the broader implications of issues.
  • Intellectual curiosity with the drive to always learn more.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to effectively influence others to advance shared goals.
  • Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

  • You understand modern brand building and you know direct-to-consumer marketing
  • Naturally curious and are the first at uncovering interesting case studies, trends and strategies deployed by disruptor brands
  • Ability to lead, direct and support cross functional stakeholders and outside agency partners
  • A natural interest in identifying consumer needs and developing plans to reach target audience- You understand what it takes to identify, engage and build loyalty in new audiences
  • Entrepreneurial minded- ready to jump into fast-paced, rapidly evolving eCommerce space

  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize disparate information to create recommendations
  • Thoughtful risk taker who is able to make quick decisions, assess results and redirect as necessary
  • Ability to thrive in a very fast paced environment, resilient to adversity and adapting with flexibility
