Demonstrates complete proficiency in the maintenance and analysis of the company's Geographic Information Systems data and processes. Also demonstrates a practical knowledge of the gas and the electric systems as well as a working knowledge of engineering and construction policies and procedures. Possess the ability to identify potential problems and developing and implementing solutions that meet or exceed customer needs.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
• Performs independent, complex analysis of various business systems using advanced tools available through GIS. Designs computer models representing electric and gas distribution systems aiding in the analysis of complex forms of geospatial data. (20%) • Designs and manages geospatial data repository used in GIS analysis. (20%) • Researches and acquires data from different sources, defines conversion procedures, and analyzes data into easily understood graphical and tabular display. (20%) • Designs project specific procedures, mapping applications, and documents. (20%) • Train new employees or contractors on the use of the company's GIS applications and provide technical support for the GIS Analysts.(20%)
Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred. • Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required. • Skilled in at least 90% of the specific functions of an Analyst/GIS Assistant.
• Demonstrated excellence in available CAD and GIS systems. • Able to train others in GIS topics. • Able to work independently and demonstrate complete proficiency in analyzing and implementing GIS solutions.
