Job Description:
Job Number: 210147 Department: Visual Effects Hours: 8-5:30 / variable As an Optician in our Downtown Ophthalmology Clinic you will have the opportunity to engage with our customers in selecting eyewear, repairing and adjusting eyeglasses, and assisting doctors in solving prescription problems.

  • Fit and readjust glass frames to ensure good vision.
  • Sell frames for glasses to customers.
  • Fill out paperwork and insurance forms to ensure payment for services rendered.
  • Verify the lab work on lenses to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Create displays, clean merchandise, and clean work preparation areas.
  • Notify patients when ordered product is ready for pick up.

Qualifications:

  • Washington State Dispensing Optician License (and 30 hours of Continuing Education Units every three years required if holding licensure).
  • Working knowledge of optics and lenses
  • Excellent product and technical knowledge
  • Understanding of how the color and shape of frames would look on customers face shape.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED

One year experience as an Optician preferred.
