Vice President, Supply Chain

Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Reporting to the President of Kitchen & Bath North America, this position is responsible to lead the Kitchen and Bath North America Supply Chain organization to world class levels of Supply Chain performance.

In this role, the leader will combine end-to-end supply chain experience and business acumen, to bring together manufacturing, integrated business planning, sales & operations planning and logistics to achieve world class delivery, planning and inventory management.

This individual will act as champion and spokesperson for achieving Supply Chain customer and financial performance within the core Kitchen and Bath Americas Group. This includes the scope and direction for Fixtures, Lighting, Faucets, and Vitreous in North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate and implement a clear and effective supply chain vision and plan for meeting the demands of the customer. Working cross-functionally with other members of the senior team, the VP's accountability will encompass demand planning and forecasting, supply planning for KBNA regional products and collaboration with global product supply chain planning, order fulfillment, B2B customer service, logistics, distribution, inventory control, B2B e-commerce and delivery performance.
  • Lead and direct the entire North America supply chain team (Fixtures, Lighting, Faucets, and Vitreous) within a world class manufacturing organization. Of importance will be the responsibility to set the vision and standards, direct the function, to build a strong team aligned with the strategy to supervise the major functions inherent within scope of responsibility. Provide the effective leadership to achieve the customer delivery, cost, performance and improved productivity and quality objectives set for the business.
  • Strategically design and direct all functions of Distribution Center and Warehouse operations within the Kitchen & Bath North America distribution network. Responsible and accountable for all Transportation related costs for both Interplant freight movement and Customer Delivery freight movements within the Kitchen & Bath North America distribution network.
  • Lead the Customer Service strategy and execution for KBNA Fixtures, Lighting, Faucets, and Vitreous. Oversight responsibility for Business-to-Business USA, Canada and Mexico operations, Warranty Administration, CRM and Supply Chain Alignment.
  • Leadership for the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, Product Availability, Finished Goods Inventory Management, Demand Management, Forecasting, Deployment, Supply Planning for NA regional products and collaboration with Global Product SC Supply Planning for all products within Fixtures, Lighting, Faucets, and Vitreous North America.
  • Accountable for assessing performance of all objectives. Design systems to measure supplier qualification and performance, customer service metrics, and to measure inventory and delivery metrics against financial plan and best in class standards.
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent organization by selecting, appointing and developing people who embody the skills and drive that contribute to our success. Cultivate the careers of your team and the associates in your entire organization and ensure that you develop a culture that supports continued development throughout your organization to ensure solid management succession. Delegate to each subordinate the responsibility and authority for performance of the assigned function, evaluate their effectiveness, and counsel and guide them toward improved performance and accountabilities for total talent management.
  • Drive associate engagement throughout the teams to improve individual leader and business performance.
  • Direct all functions within budgets and drive cost improvement year-over-year. Develop effective organizational structures. Develop human capital: emphasize performance management, associate development and promotability, and succession planning. Develop and deploy performance metrics as appropriate. Support deployment of supply chain best practices to other parts of Kohler Co.
  • Creates a motivating environment to successfully help people through change in a positive manner; fosters open communications, continuous improvement, and innovation; minimizes complexity; maintains stability; involves others in decision making.
  • Authentically builds trusted relationships and collaborates across global, diverse and multi-functional teams to successfully drive business objectives.

Skills/Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred.
  • Ten or more years of experience as a supply chain leader combining end-to-end supply chain experience, business acumen, who has the ability to bring together manufacturing, integrated business planning, sales & operations planning, warehouse & distribution management, logistics and customer service.
  • Plant leadership and/or warehouse management experience in a manufacturing or consumer goods business required.
  • Omni-channel: retail, wholesale, consumer, ecommerce is required.
  • Warehouse and Shipping management experience is required.
  • 3PL experience and warehouse design experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of the Sales, Operations and Inventory Planning process.
  • Familiar with all aspects of Customer Service and Order to Cash processes including Order Management, Fulfillment and Warranty management.
  • Knowledge and practice of lean manufacturing methodologies, logistics management, domestic and international transportation and the systems' processes and metrics that support continuous improvements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid business acumen. Experience managing Operating P&L (i.e. Net Sales to Direct Operating Margin).
  • Knowledgeable in SAP and JDA software, six sigma processes and breakthrough order fulfillment systems.
