Position Responsibilities

SOM is looking for an experienced Senior Information Systems Engineer to join our Information Systems team. This role will be critical in helping us 1) reform and update our approach to app management and 2) navigate the continual shift of apps and services to the cloud. The ideal candidate has a robust understanding of application deployment and maintenance technologies and has demonstrated experience working on a distributed/global scale. He or she is equally comfortable solving complex back-end problems while having excellent outward communication and bedside manner. A successful candidate will also have a genuine passion for technology and continual learning.


  • Deploy, maintain, and support enterprise applications on a global scale, with an emphasis on scripting and automation

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex application problems independently

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, communicate with stakeholders, and produce results

  • Strong communications and documentation skills

  • Clear and efficient coordination with team members, end-users, and vendors

  • Root cause analysis

  • Self-motivation

  • Ability to work remotely

  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • Follow industry-standard security best practices

  • Work on projects as assigned (Jira)

  • Work on tickets as assigned (ServiceNow)

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


  • 2-5 years experience managing enterprise applications in distributed and hybrid environments

  • 2-5 years experience using scripting and automation to manage enterprise applications

  • Familiarity with deployment, maintenance, and user management on the following software platforms: G Suite, Zoom, Slack, Autodesk, Microsoft 365, Salesforce

  • Experience using APIs for platforms such as those listed above

  • Experience with Python and PowerShell

  • G Suite / Google Workspace Admin experience

  • App management in both Windows and Linux server environments

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience deploying and managing applications in a VDI or DaaS environment

  • G Suite / Google Workspace Admin Certification

  • Experience managing applications in Okta

  • Experience with user provisioning and de-provisioning using SCIM

  • Experience with LDAP

  • Experience with Terraform

  • Experience working with Git and GitHub

  • Knowledge of additional scripting languages

Nice-to-Have


  • Experience with SCCM and/or Chocolatey

  • Experience with web hosting, WordPress, and LAMP stack

  • Experience with PKI

    Experience with software specific to the AEC industry
