Capterra is looking for an experienced user researcher to join our growing UX design team. This is a hands-on role focused on contributing to the processes of product discovery, design, and development. You will work closely with our Sr. UX Designer, product managers, and visual designers to help us better understand our users' needs, motivations, and pain points in finding the right software. 

What You'll Do:

• Use data and observation to understand our users and to develop insights into improvements for user experience and flow
  
  


• Design and implement the appropriate research method (usability studies, 1:1 interviews, focus groups, benchmark studies, surveys, etc.) as needed for the project 
  
  


• Understand and interpret customer needs through quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, as well as business and functional requirements
  
  


• Understand the balance of user experience, business need, and time-to-market, and recommend tradeoffs where appropriate
  
  


• Create UX documentation -- personas, transaction flows, scenarios, wireframes, navigation models, prototypes, etc. -- as a result of your research and to aid in the design of current and future products
  
  


• Effectively communicate research findings to both specific teams and the company at large
  
  


• Work cross-functionally to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced environment
  
  


• Help maintain our UX Repository with relevant findings from research
  
  

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent design exposure and 2+ years' experience in a UX research role, with examples of work
  
  


• Understanding of the UX design process and best practices - especially as they relate to digital products
  
  


• Experience building digital prototypes in InVision,Figma, Axure, JustinMind, or equivalent
  
  


• Experience developing and conducting a wide range of types of usability tests as part of a user-centered design process 
  
  


• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum development process preferred
