We are looking for RNs to work in one of our Labor and Delivery (L&D) units.
The Registered Nurse (RN) exhibits and executes Baylor Scott & White Health's (BSWH) Values & Behaviors in delivering and coordinating patient care. Utilizing the BSWH nursing professional practice model, the RN is a licensed professional who is responsible for using clinical reasoning, developing, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care, managing both emotional and physical patients, assessing patient and family level of understanding to provide effective communication and education, working collaboratively with medical staff and providing quality care in a compassionate and professional manner.
Every day, our Labor and Delivery (L&D) RNs have the special privilege of helping women and their families bring new people into the world. Our Labor and Delivery (L&D) RNs care for women during labor and childbirth, monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers during and after delivery and administering medications. In addition, our L&D RNs must be ready to care for any complications that may arise and be able to assist the physician with procedures such as cesarian sections, episiotomies and epidurals.
Ideal Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN candidates will be experienced in Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Care procedures, understand labor and delivery practices and have excellent problem solving and communications skills.

Shift/Schedule: PRN Nights 7pm to 7am (min 4 shifts/month; 1 major & 1 minor holiday/year)
