The Senior Principal Salesforce Development Lead will play an important role in shaping our new CRM eco-system from ground-up, by creating and delivering solutions using various Salesforce Cloud technologies. In this role, you'll work alongside a team of highly motivated peers to drive innovation; a collaborative mindset is essential. You will collaborate with our Delivery Manager, SF Architect and offshore team members to design, test, document, and implement new applications.

This individual contributor role will proactively identify opportunities for optimization, redesign or new development within the platform. Strong and effective communication skills are key for this position.

A Day in the Life


  • Develop and deliver solutions within the Salesforce Lightening platform to support critical business functions and meet project objectives and company goals.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Community Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud. Do hands-on development in Apex Classes/Triggers, Visualforce Pages, Salesforce Workflow, SOQL, SOSL and Force.com API
  • Implement Salesforce.com solutions using best practices through standard configuration and custom development
  • Use your proven experience and past relationships to anticipate future functional and technical obstacles in the Salesforce.com technology space and find ways to go around it, or thru it if necessary.
  • Be a doer and become the go-to-person for problem solving and solution finding when problems arise.
  • Multitask and prioritize projects and job functions as per changing business needsDevelops, documents, and configures systems specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes.
  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting hardware and software compliance and security standards.
  • Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements and characteristics of overall system.
  • Establishes and documents system design, parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems functionality, performance and compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of configurations, such as existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
  • Actively identifies system functionality or performance deficiencies, executes changes to existing systems, and tests functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
  • May document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations.
  • May act as a liaison with key technology vendor technologists or other business functions.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications

  • Strongly Preferred:
    o 5+ years of Salesforce development and prior software development industry experience with hands-on programming knowledge
    o Current certification as Salesforce Administrator and Developer
    o Proficient with Apex, VisualForce, SOQL and JavaScript

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud. Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud and Lightning Web Components

  • Experience delivering Portals/Communities on the Community Cloud platform

  • Proven experience in Software Development Life Cycle, working with an onshore/offshore model

  • Experience in Agile development methodology, Developer Driven Testing, Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration, using tools like Git, Jenkins, Gearset and/or Copado

  • Strong research, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in Healthcare industry

  • Proven program delivery using Agile Scrum project delivery methodology

  • Previous Medtronic experience

  • Preference given to current Medtronic employees

  • Priority consideration will be given to local applicants
