Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Marketing & Communication Specialist that will support our Farmington Hills Headquarters. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. 

Summary Statement

Leads assigned communication projects through development & execution ensuring alignment with customer’s needs and Company strategy. Writes original communication pieces, and coordinates the development and production of newsletters, brochures, advertisements, and other communications via a variety of media.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties

• Lead communication projects including the development of a communication plan based on a customer needs assessment, development of communication collateral, create designs and execute communication plans.


• Collaborate with graphic design function when necessary to complete assigned projects.


• Write, develop and coordinate material for company publications including feature stories, newsletters, brochures, advertising, and various other forms as appropriate.


• Manage public relations including developing and cultivating relationships with journalists, creating press releases and media kits and serve as key contact for media questions.


• Support internal and external communications strategy with the identification, placement and maintenance of pertinent information on the Company’s internet.


• Manage the news room on the Company’s internet leveraging key words to maximize search engine performance.


• Engage as a liaison with assigned departments to develop effective communications and content.


• Develop a working knowledge of the insurance industry and Amerisure business strategy as a foundation for communication development.


• Work with vendors within an assigned budget to develop content and ensure timely delivery.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business communications or a related field.


• 1-3 years marketing communication and/or public relations experience including experience optimizing copy for digital, print, websites and email communications.


• Working knowledge of online platforms and creating multimedia content.


• Intermediate skills in graphic design tools (i.e. InDesign, Creative Suite software including Photoshop and Illustrator).


• Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.


• Demonstrates successful ability to build positive relationships with internal and external customers.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.


• Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Demonstrates successful ability to lead and collaborate on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Knowledge of insurance industry or financial services industry preferred.
