Job Description for Resource Manager, Services Department

Newly created position reports to the Vice President, Services.
Resource Manager’s Responsibilities:
Assists Services Department program managers with human resources planning and staff allocation
Works with Project Managers and others to identify appropriate resource requirements for each project
Coordinates the hiring, training and onboarding of Services staff in conjunction with hiring Managers or Directors
Develops in partnership with Services leadership team the capacity to meet staffing requirements of projects and to develop a staffing strategy for each project
Maintains a constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and business development activities as they relate to resources and staffing
Assigns available staff to projects based on their skills, experience and developmental goals
Monitors and reports on staff utilization, workload and hours
Collaborates with other departments on resource management and planning
Documents resource management processes and maintains records and databases
Keeps informed on labor laws and trends in resource management
Alerts Senior Management team of any potential concerns or issues with meeting key client deliverables due to resourcing
Works with other departments to resource and assist in the identification and management of vendors and facilitate initial discussions necessary to meet specific project requirements
Creates, maintains and provides reports on resource capacity, utilization, forecasting and other relevant metrics
Tracks staff training, certifications, clearance and licensing requirements to ensure current
Documents Resource Management processes and procedures
Resource Manager Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business management, or similar
Located in the DMV area to be able to work in the Tyson’s Corner office when needed
At least five years’ experience in resource management within a services (consulting) industry (Or three years’ experience plus Resource Management Certified Professional certification)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Highly detail oriented, excellent organization and time-management skills, and able to work independently or as part of an integrated team
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with remote team members
Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form
Ability to be diplomatic or firm when necessary to drive business forward and achieve targets
Familiarity with managing budgets developed for various program and project plans
Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence and ease
Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple groups
Strong MS Office Suite skills, especially Excel and Teams
