Job Description

Currently, we are seeking applicants for a Lead Engineer – Process as part of the Family Care Intimate Care Dry Insights to Commercialization R&E team in Neenah, Wisconsin.  The incumbent will report to the Family Care Insights to Commercialization Intimate Care dry R&E Manager.

Accountabilities:


  • Serve as a Lead Process Engineer and work with a team to identify opportunities or problems, then develop solutions to benefit the consumer experience and Family Care’s tissue business. 

  • Support process innovation, development, and improvements, with potential scope ranging from early process definition to project commercialization, inclusive of product/process improvements, product supply and margin. 

  • Provide leadership and drive innovation from initial hypothesis through development, design, and commercialization of products, processes and equipment. 

  • Collaborate broadly across the corporation with R&E, pilot plant, mill and multifunctional team members, and outside the corporation with vendors.

  

Expectations:


  • Lead and support process development and implementation of projects from conception through commercial execution.

  • Provide leadership by example in safety, ethics, quality, regulatory, and sustainability, and ensure that all elements of the corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully supported. Manage self in accordance with expected One KC Behaviors. 

  • Coach and mentor team members to increase technical understanding and ability to execute programs to improve Family Care’s business results.

  • Conceive, develop, validate, and share ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials, systems or scientific knowledge aligned with business unit objectives.

  • Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to protect and defend K-C proprietary technology, products, and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with all customers, internal and external, conducting all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty so as to build an unimpeachable business reputation.

Education/Qualifications/Experience & Critical Skills Required:


  • Requires a Bachelor’s or advanced engineering or relevant scientific discipline degree and 3-5+ years relevant engineering experience in a variety of staff and/or mill assignments. 

  • Track record of research and engineering leadership and success, as well as a strong fundamental understanding of tissue technologies, processes and products.

  • Desired experience in process requirements, design of experiments, data analysis and safe operation of high-speed manufacturing and/or converting equipment and processes, with an ability to translate that knowledge in support of product, process, and capacity. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or to lead a small team in order to complete assignments or related activities in an acceptable manner. 

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues in a business environment.
