A Day in the Life


  • Support customer-facing medical device software applications for therapy delivery and real-time patient monitoring.
  • Replicate customer-reported issues and document clearly for engineering teams to resolve with supporting diagnostic data.
  • Interface directly with the global help center and customers to replicate complex behaviors.
  • Perform hands-on diagnostics by authoring databases queries (SQL) and scripts to verify internal system behaviors.
  • Identify creative solutions and workarounds to bridge between software releases.
  • Improve our diagnostic tools and scripts to enable more effective and rapid problem analysis.
  • Drive software pre-release software quality through structured testing activities including customer beta testing and launch verification.
  • Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain our software applications.
  • Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software. Review and recommend changes to user documentation including help manuals and release notes.
  • Perform systemic root cause analyses and recommend improvements to increase customer experiences.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.
  • Determines systems software design requirements.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
  • Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience or a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a software development or software test engineer
  • Experience writing SQL DB scripts
  • Experience with a general-purpose scripting language such as Python
  • Familiarity with Unix command line scripting, such as bash/ksh/sh
  • Experience in highly rigorous and regulated environments
  • Familiarity with deployment engineering
