KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist in coordinating EHS activities at the assigned facility.
  • Facilitate hourly training programs as determined by facility managers and maintain adequate documentation using the LMS.
  • Facilitate new-hire orientation.
  • Drive EHS initiatives that are part of the EHS Strategic Plan, to include:

    • 5S
    • Behavior Based Safety Observations
    • Near Miss Reporting
    • Accident/Incident Early Reporting and Investigation
    • Monthly/Quarterly Safety training
    • PPE Compliance

  • Effectively communicate internal and external requirements and work with the management team to ensure compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc...).
  • Assist with the investigation process of any incidents as well as preparation of Safety Alerts.
  • Ability to identify and recognize unsafe conditions or work practices and work with the management team to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Organize and conduct effective training/educational programs.
  • Ability to work independently and display creativity, exercise sound judgment, demonstrates initiative, and posses' excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner, works well with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrates persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles.
  • Ability to create and modify documents and spreadsheets including word and excel. Ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time.
  • Ability to obtain full understanding of Morgan Corporation products and assembly methods. With that knowledge provide input to PPE, tool and process improvements.
  • Conduct hoist, forklift and aerial training and practical certifications.
  • Participate in orientation training for EH&S topics.
  • Conduct regulatory-required training: hazard communication, lockout/tagout, etc.
  • With training, conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and environmental sampling.
  • Assist in conducting monthly safety meetings. Prepare weekly safety topics for distribution.
  • Coordinate Safety Committee and assist with meetings and action item completion.
  • Maintain an active involvement with the Emergency Response Team, including scheduling and participation in monthly meetings, training and support.
  • Monitor and assist with daily, weekly, monthly and annual EH&S tasks in the ERA system.
  • Perform and assist with in-house and corporate EH&S audits
  • Oversee the storage, handling and shipping of hazardous waste from all PA facilities. Perform weekly hazardous waste inspections.
  • Collaborate on company-wide EHS projects (as needed) that benefit all the locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year college degree required, four-year college degree preferred
  • Training experience required
  • OSHA education/training preferred and/or willingness to attend classes.
  • Hazardous Waste Awareness level, Train the Trainer designations for Hoist, Forklift and Manlifts or ability to complete within 6 months
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste experience preferred
  • 5-10 years manufacturing experience with additional exposure to EHS supporting role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must be able to work in dusty environment, during extreme temperatures (hot during summer months, cold during winter months)
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

SAFETY:

Safety is paramount on any Morgan operation. The Safety Lead is expected to be familiar with the company's safety program and enforce the safety policy always. Never walk past an unsafe act.
