POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading employees in achieving expected safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost targets for the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain a safe work environment, and respond to identified safety or environmental risks with urgency
Keep the work area neat and organized, including but not limited to tools, work space, inventory storage, and paperwork
Maintain work skills to facilitate job performance as a working member of the team, and to be aware of the required skills for team members
Direct the work of production employees
Train employees on required job functions
Assign work to each employee to maintain high productivity and skill levels
Ensure quality standards are achieved by following and adhering to defined processes.
Manage kitting area and team members to achieve on time performance to the production schedule.
Alert planning of parts shortages immediately to maintain production flow and schedule adherence.
Serve as the team coach to promote safety, efficiency and a clean and organized work area.
Strive for continuous improvement
Master Lean tools applicable to the area being managed, including but not limited to standard work, 5S, and error-proofing
Notify other employees when a problem is discovered and help determine the root cause to prevent future occurrence
Participate in and support Kaizen events and other improvement activities
Responsible for tracking key metrics
Keep daily boards up-to-date for all required reporting items
Complete necessary labor reporting, including but not limited to employee performance and time and attendance
Council team members on safety, time and attendance and company policy violations.
Complete required reporting for safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and labor
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED preferred and at least 5 years of experience in a field related to the work being managed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically in Excel and Work
Willing to work overtime and varied shift assignments when needed.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:
Travel may be required by car or plane
