The Coordinator of African American Programs and Services & Fraternity and Sorority Programs and Services is responsible for fostering a commitment to student success by actively developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and services that enrich student learning, build and maintain a strong sense of community and support the social and personal development of students at the University of Oklahoma. The position also provides guidance and leadership related to programming, assessment, and other administrative duties, as well as programming for the entirety of the community. The incumbent serves as a member of the administration of Multicultural Programs and Services and Fraternity/Sorority Programs teams; develops programs and services to enhance student leadership and learning; guidance and supervision to graduate students; lead assessment initiatives; manage student retention; serves as a liaison and main contact between (inter)national fraternity/sorority general headquarter offices, regional/local volunteers, and the University; works with various University and external constituencies in the supervision of activities and goals for the Office of Student Life. This role maintains consistent communication with various university stakeholders including alumni, faculty, and staff. This position will assist the Associate Director of Student Life in providing vision and strategies to support the students and communities they represent.
Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:
0 - 24 months of experience in student advising or programming

Advanced excel skills with ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
Basic math skills
Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions

Advertised Physical Requirements:
Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to work irregular hours (outside of normal business hours) due to student programs and events. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Departmental Preferences:
Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs or a related field
Experience with first generation student engagement and diversity programming
Supervision: 1-5 Staff
