Education and Experience:
REQUIRED:
BA/BS Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering
Six (6) years consumable (food, dietary supplement or drug) product development experience
Two (2) years' experience managing a team
PREFERRED:
Eight (8) years OTC drug/Dietary supplement product development experience
Four (4) years managing product development teams in an OTC/dietary supplement facility
Prior experience with a B2B contract development organization
Essential Duties:
Work in a team environment interfacing with Commercialization, Business Development, Quality, Engineering and Operations to lead the development of new products, concepts, product improvements, and process improvements
Establish program goals, objectives, and plan development activities by interfacing through project management system
Directly manage the day to day activities associated with product development projects
Provide technical guidance to direct reports and supported departments
Lead and support cost reduction project changes to meet business targets
Collaborate, provide direction, and lead cross-functional teams to ensure group engagement and alignment for new product commercialization and implementation delivering upon strategic initiatives and timelines
Leverage leadership and communication skills to gain alignment on the innovation pipeline and deliver business results
Build alignment with Operations and Engineering in developing effective and efficient processes during the transfer of products to manufacturing compliant with process and performance specifications while delivering upon financial expectations
Participate in the evaluation of Innovation capabilities; collaborate with internal and external clients to identify opportunities for new product ideas.
Facilitate career development discussions, regular project update meetings, day-to-day project coaching and any other support required to assure group and individuals deliver against the business plan and objectives.
Lead and develop the product development scientists and technicians
Perform other duties as required.

Technician and Scientists(s) - up to 4
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Advanced product development understanding, including formulation, ingredients, ingredient functionality, ingredient interaction, batching, scale-up, project management, food systems (chemistry, micro, quality), manufacturing, supply chain, experimental design, product stability, stability testing, sensory and consumer evaluation.
Understanding of 21 CFR Parts 110, 111, 210 and 211
Able to manage change in a multi-site and multi-disciplinary environment
Strong Scientific & Analytical Skills
Strong Project Management Skills
Knowledge in process control and process design
Experience with sensory analysis approaches
Good interpersonal & communications skills (written and verbal)
Cross functional team experience (packing, production, marketing, finance)
Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must have a positive attitude, self-motivation, and an energetic approach
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
