Description

One Brave Idea (OBI) is currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and talented individual to conduct translational research experiments related to novel phenotyping of cardiovascular disease. The Technical Research Assistant will assist in characterizing study participants' genomes, transcriptomes, proteomes, and non-molecular phenotypes in order to facilitate discovery of 1) novel markers of coronary artery disease at its earliest stages; and 2) insight into its disease mechanisms. The primary project involves generation of data for downstream use in unsupervised machine learning projects.Because much of the work is high-throughput and team-based, the candidate will closely collaborate with a group of research assistants, post-docs, and data scientists.TheTechnical Research Assistant will report directly to the Science Operations Lead.

OBI is a unique $75 million investment focused on combating coronary heart disease, enabled by a collaboration between the American Heart Association, Verily, AstraZeneca, and Quest Diagnostics. The goal of the investment is tocombine innovative participant phenotyping, large scale genetic, genomic and proteomic characterization, and mechanistic cell biology to enable novel discoveries and drive their application to clinical practice.OBI's current activities include work in data analytics, genomics, genetics, cell biology, care redesign, and machine learning.
