Description
Georgia-Pacific is currently recruiting for a Inventory for its Madison, GA Plywood Mill. This position will be responsible for managing ~$4M of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) inventory. Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing & Stores, the Stores Lead will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Spare Parts Storeroom. *Responsible for ensuring that all stock items are in alignment with an asset strategy that supports operations and mill uptime
*Collaborating with maintenance and reliability leadership to ensure the storeroom and material within the storeroom are treated like an asset
*Managing and owning inventory strategies, maintaining optimal inventory levels and assist in developing criticality classifications for parts to track materials most critical to uptime
*Managing and owning the overall Spare Parts supply operations, including receiving maintenance materials, storeroom inventory and departmental supplies
*Conduct and develop periodic review and analysis of the inventory including but not limited to cycle counting, slow moving and obsolete reviews, over-max reduction, and min/max reviews, repair & return transactions and system capabilities
*Ensuring compliance to all reliability, safety and environmental procedures through proper storage and organization of parts
*Consulting with vendors to help drive improvements in Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) including placement and inventory optimization
*Managing New Stock item initiation process for facility with an emphasis on criticality
*Resolve invoice discrepancies related to receiving transactions as needed
*Ability to lead a team and consult with operation leaders across various departments
*High school diploma or GED
*2 years of experience in supply chain, operations, or maintenance OR 1 year of experience with a 2-year Associates degree
*Experience with advanced technology platforms such as Microsoft Excel and Teams
*Experience operating a forklift
*Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
Physical Requirement:
*Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
*Willing to perform repetitive tasks including but not limited to lifting, standing, pushing, climbing, and stooping
*Knowledge of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) parts
*Experience with inventory management software such as SAP or MP2
*Minimum 1 year of inventory management experience
