  • Select and transfer coil stock from storage area to cut-off machines. Thread wire through various pre-cutoff positions including welder, draw die, and rotary straightened. Thread into guide bushings and clamping stones. Weigh wire roll after usage and record weight.
  • Set up wire cut-off machines by changing or resetting various machine components including: draw die, cut-off and guide bushings, and clamping stones. Adjust clamping stones, cut-off length and stroke as required to obtain specified roller length.
  • Disassemble cutter head, as required, to clean cutting slide. Reassemble and adjust slide to assure continued quality of cut-off blanks. Notify maintenance if cutting slides need to be re-sharpened.
  • Operate 6 machines. Will maintain all running machines during set up.
  • Frequently inspect parts during cycles using micrometers and gauges to maintain print specifications. Will collect SPC data as required.
  • Operator must be able to read part prints.
  • Operate material handling equipment to transfer stock and production within the department. Includes hand cart, hoist, wench, and fork truck.
  • Operator is responsible for transferring parts to bins, weighing bins for piece count, and transferring to next operation.
  • Will perform minor maintenance on machines as necessary.
  • Keep machinery and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Will complete all relevant paperwork.

  • Load components into harperizer, compound, as prescribed by operation card. Seal tumblers with metal lids as required. Use hoist or other mechanical aids to move large containers.
  • Must be able to operate any of the machines within the specified work area.
  • Weigh parts using scales. Separate into weighted groups as specified by individual routing.
  • Obtain standard from Gage Lab and set up gages necessary to check work processed. Gage parts at regular intervals to ascertain desired results are being obtained. Record dimension results as required. Collect SPC data as required.
  • Operator is responsible for recording the amount of supplies used (i.e. grit etc.) on central supply board. Operator will fill out the necessary paperwork to reorder supplies when the reorder point is reached.
  • Load components into tumblers or heated tumblers; add media, compound, or oil as prescribed by operation card. Seal tumblers with metal lids as required. Use hoist or other mechanical aids to move large containers.
  • Set up and operate abrasive finishing equipment to process parts where special surface finish is required.
  • Must be able to operate any of the tumbling machines, vibratory machines, washers, driers, or other machines within the specified work area.
  • Set angle and RPM for each machine and tumble for prescribed length of time.
  • Unload rolls manually or by dumping when specified operation is complete. Rinse and separate rolls from media. Perform washing cycles prior to processing thru heated tumbler.
  • Will run continuous type furnace equipment.
  • Used hardness tester to check heat treated loads and determine if hardness requirements are being maintained. Eddy current check parts per work instruction.
  • Will perform miscellaneous related duties including completing paperwork for each scheduled lot, maintaining the cleanliness of the work area, dipping parts in oil, and material handling within the department.
