Job Description:

PPG Aerospace in Wallingford, CT is hiring a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor. As a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor , you will lead the 3rd shift team in meeting demand and delivery of superior products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities :


  • Plans, prioritizes, coordinates and monitors operator's activities to ensure optimal safety of plant personnel is attained; production plans and quality standards are achieved.
  • Ensures operating costs are contained through efficient use of personnel, machinery, materials and operating procedure; and achieving performance standards and company goals are achieved.
  • Facilitates the subsequent training needs of the team to provide skill improvements which align with present and future business requirements, and coordinates identified training needs with the plant manager.
  • Routinely inspects plant equipment for operational integrity. Initiates Maintenance Requests to retain equipment in proper operating condition.
  • Completes all required documents including, but not limited to, production reports, time cards, performance documentation and safety reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Conducts meaningful performance reviews with employees and ensures operators meet established safety/performance standards.
  • Recommends measures to improve efficiency in production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Assures that production and handling, packaging, storage and protection of materials are carried out under controlled conditions to preserve the conformity.
  • Performs other assignments as advised by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications :


  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent general education degree required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required. ERP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and proven practical application of Lean manufacturing models, processes and applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation and conflict resolution skills as well as adaptability and the desire to make a difference.
  • Superior team leadership, interpersonal and prioritizing skills.
  • Confident, and resolves problem with drive and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
