Senior Accountant



Your task structure



Summary:


The Senior Accountant ensures that all accounting data is properly recorded, controlled, analyzed, and reported in a timely manner in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP under the guidelines of company policy and procedure. Responsible to prepare external financial reporting. Strong SAP FI/CO knowledge is essential.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for financial, tax and audit purposes in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the corporate guidelines and time schedule

  • Accountable for the recording and the analysis of all general accounting data including monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Responsible to review financial and tax reporting for Mexican subsidiary

  • Provide accounting guidance to other staff members on tax related matters and review of tax reporting

  • Provide continuous analysis and monitoring of accounting processes to identify and implement process improvements

  • Coordinate preparation of year-end tax schedules and financial statements; consolidate data for submission to external tax accountants

  • Provide SAP FI/CO training to finance personnel as needed and support SAP Projects for the accounting team

  • Provides leadership for establishing and maintaining a safe work environment. Proactively addresses and corrects all unsafe behaviors and conditions.

  • Other functions as assigned.



Your recipe for success



Qualifications:


  • At a minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. A master's degree, CPA and supervisory experience is a plus.

  • 5+ years of related experience with progressive responsibilities

  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness

  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and make decisions

  • Expert in Excel and Microsoft Office

Knowledge and Skills:


  • A thorough understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting principles and practices

  • Previous accounting experience and knowledge of departmental job functions and procedures

  • SAP FI/CO skills on Key User level

  • Team oriented, experienced in communication, coordination and chairing of meetings with effective presentation skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely manner and react well under pressure.

  • Strong analytical abilities and excellent mathematical aptitude
