Database Engineer Senior
Purpose:
Analyzing, designing, programming and testing TriZetto software programs and applications. Working closely with Product Design, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Quality Assurance and Customer Support to assess, enhance, maintain and support software solutions to business problems. Using strong logic, computer language skills, combined with healthcare industry and practical knowledge, deliver and maintain applications and software providing comprehensive business solutions to the healthcare industry.
Experience:
• SQL skills including object creation and query tuning.
o Be able to tune queries to alter the query plan
o Understand indexing and partitioning
• Basic understanding of OLTP and OLAP database structures.
• Basic understanding of ETL development including both Powershell and SSIS to move and transform data
o Development work to load Warehouse
• Basic understanding of role based permissions.
• Basic understanding of DBA type tasks like backing up, restoring, and creating databases.
o Used to maintain Dev/functional server for application teams
• SQL job Agent
o Support production jobs for SSIS, Powershell, and TSQL
Application level experience:
• Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server for source control/deployment
o Use source control to deploy SQL to different environments.
• SSMS for interaction with the SQL servers.
• Powershell
o Used often for data movement
• SSIS
o Basic understanding. No new dev is being done in SSIS currently
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Minimum of five years' related experience. Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
