 Description

This position is based in the Emerson Austin office. The Austin team is part of a worldwide team of Product Engineers who in turn are part of the Customer Support organization that includes front line technical support. This role will include
opportunities to interface with the Emerson Technology, Marketing, Lifecycle Services and Project Execution organizations in addition to direct customer engagement.
This position is well suited for problem solvers who enjoy working closely with customers on a variety of topics to provide solutions. This is achieved through the Product Engineer’s personal knowledge and ability to build relationships with
our worldwide end users. 

We are looking for candidates who enjoy working with many different customers and that have the ability to handle technical topics relating to DeltaV Software Applications. This will include working with applications within the product including but not limited to OPC, Data collection and Continuous Historian. In addition to this customer interaction, those in Product Engineering have opportunities to work with many Emerson organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with customers, Emerson Technical Support offices or representatives, Global Service Centre (GSC) engineers and development engineers on technical solutions to DeltaV applications
• Provide feedback to Technology regarding our end user requirements of DeltaV software based on the investigation of field issues
• Generate close consultative long term relationships with key Emerson customers in order to assist with their DeltaV support needs
• Handle technical investigations around customer issues in the areas of DeltaV Operate and DeltaV Live

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or relevant degree 


• 6+ years of relevant experience. Must have background in control systems.


• Creative problem solver


• Ability to work directly with the end user resolving system issues on a running process


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to support regular interfacing with customers and other departments within Emerson


• Desired Experience- Previous knowledge of DeltaV control systems and/or DeltaV peripheral products


• Experience with DeltaV Upgrades
