If you are an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will  be responsible for developing an electronic controls/drive solution for a lineup of new commercial compressors. You will be expected to execute fast-paced, time sensitive projects while building the organizations subject matter expertise in high speed variable frequency drive.

AS A SENIOR/LEAD ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Integrate high speed variable frequency drives with compressors to optimize efficiency and cost

  • Specify electrical/electronics hardware architecture for HVAC applications in large commercial equipment

  • Develop electronics and controls hardware for application in / with HVAC/R compressors

  • Carry out design of experiment and validation, develop both analytical and empirical validation procedures for compressors, electronics and drives

  • Coordinate with suppliers, partners, lab, compressor engineers and manufacturing to deliver prototypes, samples and mass production product

  • Generate technical specifications to satisfy market requirements

  • Work cross functionally with other groups such as engineering, labs, planning/project management, marketing, advanced manufacturing

  • Represent Emerson engineering in technical customer engagements

  • Interact with other technical team members to drive robust, sound, technical decision

  • Define project scope and review requirements for phase gate approval

  • Clearly and precisely communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and with client


WHO YOU ARE:

Build and deliver solutions that meet internal and external customer expectation. Provide timely the cost effective solution across the organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Five plus (5+) years relevant engineering experience or combined equivalent work & educational experience

  • Experience with control, setup and application of variable speed drives

  • Industry electro-mechanical experience

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided


 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Familiarity with high speed equipment and high speed motor control

  • Previous experience developing and integrating electro-mechanical products for HVAC/R applications

  • Experience with programmable logic controls such as Carel cPCO and/or Dixell iPRO and their associated software programming languages

  • Proven success in cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, while also being able to work independently with minimum supervision
