The Supplier Diversity team is responsible for the overall strategic design, development, implementation, management, metrics, and execution of the supplier diversity program initiatives at Cigna.

Cigna's Global Procurement/Third Party Management organization is looking for a talented person who will support our culture of collaboration and innovation supporting Supplier Diversity. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with a team of Supplier Diversity professionals having a daily impact on our company success, developing and delivering on a sustainable growth strategy that will increase diverse supplier awareness and spend across Cigna.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Supplier Diversity and Sustainability, the Supplier Diversity Specialist will provide support for the Supplier Diversity program by attending outreach events to identify new diverse suppliers, support the Supplier Diversity Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in developing strong relationships with internal cross-functional business partners, e.g. sales and sourcing, as well as, external advocacy groups in order to advance the goals of Cigna's Supplier Diversity program and the needs of the Cigna client.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Identification and integration of diverse suppliers into the supply chain in response to our government and key strategic customer requirements.
  • Support the Suppler Diversity SMEs, who partner with Sales and Global Procurement to execute a Tier I and Tier II diverse supplier strategy.
  • Develop solutions to expand our relationships with Tier I diverse suppliers and to further advance the development of our Tier II program utilizing the following channels: Responding RFIs/RFPs; market analysis; facilitation diverse supplier connect meetings; support diverse spend analysis, goal establishment, understanding trends, identification of small and diverse suppliers.
  • Identify prospective diverse suppliers to drive diverse supplier spend goals for category strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for small and diverse suppliers to address existing and potential subcontracting deficits for future contracts.
  • Report & track progress of T1 and T2 diverse spend goals, and support driving reporting compliance.
  • Partner with Supplier Diversity & Analytics team, and Cigna's third party sources to administer Annual Reporting requirements, RFI/RFP activity, and government contractual reporting requirements.
  • Work with the Supplier Diversity Project Lead for Cigna's Supplier Mentor/Protégé Program.
  • Manage outreach activities for tradeshows, matchmaking and other networking activities.
  • Coordinate/manage industry conference meetings, including meeting materials, exhibit booth, promo items, printing and shipping.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA, PMI Certification or Six Sigma also valued.
  • 3-5+ years of experience Sourcing (Category Management) in the healthcare industry and/or Supplier Diversity experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate across departments and with varying management levels.
  • Knowledge of Ariba/SAP Procure to Pay system a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Project management and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of interrelationship of Products, Sales & Operations a plus.
  • Some travel may be required for this role in support of both national and regional supplier diversity events.
