Summary:

The Consumer Loan Officer is responsible for receiving, reviewing and processing applications for consumer, and construction loans. Collects and evaluates loan applications and approves those that meet lending criteria and are within the approved lending limits. Proactively seeks to generate additional loan opportunities by following up on referrals and seeking new business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes consumer loan client applications, prepares consumer loans for approval and funding while properly developing loans and actively seeking cross selling opportunities


• Assembles and evaluates consumer loan applications and approves/declines those that are within approved lending limits in accordance with sound lending practices


• Reviews and approves construction loan applications and handles draws and orders inspections during the construction process


• Communicates with team members and applicants to explain credit decisions and requests further loan documentation if needed


• Responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of clients this includes handling overdrafts, past dues, and loan payments


• Advise borrowers on financial status and method of payments


• Other duties as assigned

Education And/Or Experience:

• High School Diploma Required


• Bachelors in business related field preferred


• Minimum of Three (3) years of consumer and construction loan experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)


• Working knowledge of Encompass preferred


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Strong analytical skills required


• Familiarity of financial software


• Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure of deadlines


• All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background, credit, and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.


• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.


• Sitting for long periods of time.

Working Conditions:

The working conditions are generally comfortable with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust and other related items. All employees are required to maintain a neat and safe work area.
