Job Summary:  Reporting to the General Manager or designated manager, facilitate in lane auction bids of units available for sale.  Partner with Ringmen and Block Clerk staff to drive equitable and first-class services to ADESA customers.  Develop positive customer relationship, enhance vehicle sales. Perform all duties assigned by the General Manager or designated manager.   Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed at all times by persons under their jurisdiction.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Provide excellent customer service: 

• Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention.


• Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment and friendly disposition by greeting others. 


• Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise Management of all serious complaints or incidences.

Maintain work station:

• Ensure all auction area conditions are not a potential threat to employee or customer safety. 


• Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee or customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. 


• Report all incidents to Management immediately per auction policy.

Other responsibilities:

• Maintain equipment and tools properly and advise supervisor or manager of any needed equipment maintenance or breakdown.


• Practice and promote teamwork at all times.


• Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.

Specific Responsibilities and Skills

• Facilitate in-lane transactions according to customer specifications.


• Provide accurate announcements regarding units, according to information in ADESA systems and visual presentation on the auction floor.


• Clearly announce current bids and continue to solicit bids to highest selling price/if offers.  Announce completion of the sale.


• Work cohesively with Ringmen and Block Clerks to ensure transactions are completed equitably and recorded according to ADESA standards.


• Work with Auction staff on arbitrations or any other sale day issues.

Qualifications:

• Clear, authoritative presentation skills.


• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Valid drivers license


• 18+ years of age


• Auctioneer Training/Licensing Preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: The physical activity requirements of the position are from Light to Medium Physical Work.   

Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable to definitions for Clerical, Administrative, Machine Operators (including inspection) positions. 

Constant –fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing

Frequent –reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting

            Potential – climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motions

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards, such as electrical current , moving mechanical parts, exposure to hot equipment and cleaning and pesticide chemicals; and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with internal and external service station/convenience food and petroleum dispensing operations.
