If you are a Sr. Buyer/Planner professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Kennesaw, Georgia location, you will be managing the suppliers and inventory levels for an assigned group of products. You will be responsible for all procurement of these products and working with the vendor base to schedule deliveries to meet the production plans. You will work with the vendors on programs to reduce lead time, implement Kanban programs and other initiatives to improve key metrics.

 

AS SR. BUYER PLANNER, YOU WILL: 

• Plan and schedule parts and production equipment to meet manufacturing requirements
• Interface with all vendors assigned
• Prepare and distribute drawing packages to suppliers for quotation
• Negotiate pricing and delivery and ensure quality standards with assigned vendors
• Support e-sourcing and other company initiatives for assigned vendors
• Support procurement commodities based on MRP, forecast and history
• Communicate effectively for any potential delay in deliveries from assigned vendors
• Support multiple functional departments in resolving issues with assigned vendors (invoice or packing slip discrepancies,quality issues/returns, etc.)
• Develop proper relationships with new and exisiting vendors to fulfill requirements
• Coordinate material planning with vendors for Engineering Change Notices (ECN's)
• Material planning in support of Purchasing and new product introduction
• Analyze Inventory Control Reports and recommend changes to better support manufacturing requirements, while still meeting the target metrics
• Communicate any changes or any problems that impact production schedules to Production and Inventory Control.
• Pursue NMI (Net Material Inflation) reductions through alternative sources, purchasing agreements, etc.
• Facilitate the receipt from suppliers of International Trade Compliance and Product Material Compliance documentation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• B.S. Degree
• 5 years of purchasing experience, or equal combination of education and experience
• Strong working knowledge of Office 365 or comparable software
• Strong math skills
• Experience with ERP system order placement and maintenance, preferrably Industrios
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Experience with international sourcing and procurement
• Experience with import international trade processes
• Experience with product and material environmental regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with inventory turnover management
• Professional training or certification in Procurement field
