Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Global Marketing Manager, Home Care to join our Specialty Ingredients G.P., business at our Bridgewater, NJ or Wilmington, DE locations. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Home Care function. This position will report to the VP of Oral Care / Home Care.

The Global Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and developing home care/I&I projects across all the segments. You will help to develop and drive strategic projects, global strategy and marketing plans and lead the implementation of targets/measures. In addition, you will need to help create consumer insights to drive innovation and new product development in the home care/I&I sector. Lastly, you will monitor and analyze market and competitive intelligence in the global home care/I&I markets.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Consumer Insights


  • Gather and analyze data, understand trends and patterns, construct story lines to deliver impactful / implementable insights;

  • Collaborate with market research team to pull data and insights from secondary sources;

  • Uncover market-specific product gaps and customer needs to help influence the innovation roadmap;

  • Translate data into actionable insights and activities utilizing engaging brand storytelling and communication vehicles.

Product/Brand Marketing


  • Strengthen value proposition of existing portfolio based on consumer insights;

  • define targeted consumer/market segments and associated messaging;

  • support development and execution of home care/I&I marketing strategies and plans;

  • support product value proposition and execute promotional campaigns that tie together product value and market trends;

  • reinforce key selling points and product positioning;

  • conduct regular training sessions with the global commercial organization and distribution network;

  • collaborate with global & regional marketing managers and marketing communications team to produce promotional materials/sales tools;

  • develop understanding of marketing position vs competition;

  • monitor and analyze competitive activity in collaboration with R&D;

  • write articles to appear in technical/trade publications;

  • collaborate with marketing communications team to execute home care trend promotional plan;

  • assure that external web-based tools have the most up-to-date content;

  • create and execute NA home care strategy.

Innovation


  • Partner with R&D to ensure quality pipeline and execution of the projects throughout the entire process (from inception of project and business case development to scale-up, process engineering, capacity utilization, manufacturing, etc.);

  • support global ideation process as related to home care/I&I.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


  • B.A./B.S. is required; technical discipline preferred;

  • MBA in marketing required; or relevant number of years of experience working in a comparable position

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing/product management in home care/I&I

  • Ability to travel, up to 25% globally;

  • Best in class in marketing communications, with excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Experience in creation/execution of marketing plans;

  • Possess experience in creating/developing consumer insights;

  • Proven knowledge in market analysis, competitive assessment, supply/demand analysis, capacity evaluations, and other activities related to strategy development;

  • Demonstrates creative marketing skills/capabilities;

  • Experience in leading projects, specifically innovation pipeline projects;

  • Strong understanding of SFDC and managing campaigns;

  • Proven track record in developing effective marketing strategies and developing targeted value-added positioning within the specialty home care/I&I market;

  • Proven experience in identifying market trends and development/execution of trend messaging;

  • Proven track record in blue printing home care/I&I market;

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and develop relationships with internal partners, including R&D, product management, sales team, regulatory, EH&S, and supply chains.
