Job Description:

Since 1949, Tulsa Welding School has been preparing students to enter the skilled trades with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for success. Programs offered at the Tulsa campus are Professional Welder and Associate of Occupational Studies in Welding Technology. Tulsa is the second-largest city in the state of Oklahoma, offering students a cosmopolitan atmosphere that feels southern, eastern and western all at once.

TWS Tulsa Campus is conveniently located near the 412, 244 and 64 expressways, near Broken Arrow and within driving distance from Oklahoma City, Norman and Tuttle.
We are currently seeking a Student Advisor
Responsible for dealing with students in matters such as attendance issues, grades, satisfactory academic progress, leave of absence requests, terminations and answer questions and provide information as needed. This position also focuses on retention and oversees the reinstatement process.
Responsibilities:
▪ Number one priority is student retention and satisfaction, which is monitored through reports and surveys, as well as face-to-face interaction with students and staff (including instructors)
▪ Monitors Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at the end of each phase, prints SAP Failure Letters and has each student who fails SAP sign the form after discussing the issues that may have caused or contributed to the problem. Also offers assistance if needed.
▪ Monitors attendance daily, makes calls to find out the reasons for a student’s absences and encourages students to attend while emphasizing the importance of satisfactory attendance in order to graduate
▪ Schedules, organizes and informs students of meeting with the Appeals Committee
▪ Schedules student’s meetings with the Reinstatement Committee
▪ Coordinates AOS interviews for students and graduates who express interest in attending the AOS program
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree in related field; or minimum two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
