The Internal Wholesaler is responsible for developing and maintaining existing relationships as well as identifying and acquiring new business within their territory to meet sales goals. The internal wholesaler will support an experienced field team of sales professionals with the institutional sales area and be a liaison to the field sales teams.

Please note: This is a full-time telecommuter (remote) position. 

Essential functions for this role include:



  • Advisor/Consultant Relations


    • Partner with territory VPs to develop a business plan, manage a territory, and drive to regional goals and objectives. Follow-up after key meetings and events

    • Provide information and analysis for active prospect situations, help qualify leads and convert them to sales

    • Make proactive telephone calls to an assigned territory; Answer and convert inbound calls from the territory into additional opportunities to drive sales

    • Conduct relations-building and consultative sales calls through outreach to key advisors and consultants. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners

    • Conduct competitive evaluation within product line-ups and maintain key competitive information

    • Analyze reports to increase understanding of DC business and identify sales trends; leverage the information to prepare for outbound sales calls. Research and communicate industry changes and trends that may impact company or product positioning, with both internal and external customers

    • Demonstrate an understanding of the product portfolio features and benefits; Sells solutions provided by the products

    • Develop and tailor sales concepts and presentations on basis of prospect/client needs and profile

    • Prioritize and manage daily, weekly, and monthly workload

    • Travel to territory to conduct one-on-one DC meetings and/or to deliver group presentations

    • Lead sales opportunities re-actively in the territory for $5m and below




  • Strategy and Prospecting

    • Work with externals to develop territory strategy and coverage plan

    • Work with externals to develop sales ideas and campaigns

    • Create data mining campaign to target key prospects

    • Be a leading user of salesforce in documenting and executing on activity and sales leads




  • Internal Relations and Effectiveness

    • Develop and maintain great internal relationships so that you can effectively leverage other departments to obtain data, material and resources as the sales team needs them

    • Build and maintain an exceptional working relationship with the external sales team

    • Proven ability to build strong relationships



If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:



  • 2-3 years of experience in financial services industry, financial sales or financial wholesaling



  • Knowledge of investment management or financial industry

  • Demonstrates high level of time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with integrity and ownership of work

  • Team player with strong interpersonal communication and sales skills that can thrive in a collaborative sales environment

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Internal Wholesaler experience a plus
