The Tandigm Health HVN Data Analyst supports the operational needs of the High Value Networks (HVN) department through engagement with stakeholders from across the company to build information assets and help answer critical business questions in support of those needs. The Analyst will utilize clinical claims and other administrative data sets to discover patterns, test assumptions, and uncover new opportunities in promotion of high value care. The Data Analyst gathers requirements, analyze internal and external data sets, design dashboards and visualizations to support strategy and decision making. The Analyst is responsible for insuring data quality and appropriate data use to comply with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.   Position is based in the greater Philadelphia, PA suburbs; you must be located within a commutable distance to our West Conshohocken, PA office (presently home-based until further notice).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Apply critical thinking skills to analyze large clinical and administrative data sets to detect patterns and identify trends.

  • Work closely with business partners to understand their objectives, gather requirements, design, develop, and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, network performance, and methodology levers.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze large data sets, gathering insights and determining actions to improve patient care and lower costs.

  • Investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care data to discover patterns, identify trends and uncover new predictive indicators.

  • Manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritizes work with limited supervision and be accustomed to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Evaluate and present information in a manner that will facilitate stakeholders’ understanding of the results and impact.

  • Provide analytical support and expertise when compiling and reporting information.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses Tandigm patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Epidemiology, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, with:

Experience:

Health care industry background and experience with payor claims, EMR data, CMS data, clinical outcomes, and health care utilization measurements preferred, with:


  • Demonstrated experience querying databases with SQL;

  • Analyzing large data sets and visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders;

  • Analyzing data from 3rd party providers;

  • Experience with client relations/customer service; and 

  • Experience with project management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:


  • Familiarity with databases (SQL Server preferred);

  • Experience designing and building charts/dashboards/reports with data visualization software (Tableau preferred);

  • Ability to work independently on various simultaneous initiatives;

  • Ability to produce high quality work products on time; 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques; and

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
