The Safety Technology Specialist (STS) reports directly to the Manager of Safety Technology. The STS is responsible for administrative and associated tasks of the Onboard Event Recorder Program (OBER).

 

Essential Functions: 


  • Create, review, distribute and update daily/weekly OBER reports and provide immediate feedback to the Manager of Safety Technology so that appropriate action(s) can be taken

  • Work with terminal managers/coaches to address portal matters such as creating and updating user/truck profiles and updating driver, truck and group assignments

  • Search, trim/transfer, download, distribute and archive Onboard Event Recorder videos

  • Update QDI/OBER Intranet Communication Website

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

 

Minimum education/experience necessary to perform the job:


  • High School Diploma

  • 3-5 years in transportation and or logistics industry, preferably in a safety or operations role

  • Must be familiar with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

  • Incumbent must be able to analyze data and develop meaningful reports that identify trends that are immediate concerns as well as long term process improvement opportunities

 

Minimum special knowledge and skills required:


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include heavy usage of Access and Excel to analyze data using pivot tables

  • Proficient with Google “G” Suite to include heavy usage of sheets, slides, docs and sites

  • Communication and Presentation Skills
