This position is located in El Segundo, CA or Seattle, WA.  Relocation assistance is not available.

Overall Purpose: Mainly responsible for negotiating distribution agreements with new and existing affiliates. Manages affiliate requests and serves as the main point of contact with the affiliates for all their needs, and drives distribution and renewal efforts. Reviews contract terms and conditions related to the agreements and coordinates with legal and business affairs regarding interpretation and implementation of contractual language. Works with Finance to review trend analysis and identifies issues to be worked out with the affiliates. The Role also supports the AVP in negotiations on agreements with MVPDs and new digital initiatives (TVE, OTT). This Role will also support AVP, Business Affairs and Affiliate Relations in acquiring content rights for and optimizing the monetization of the regional sports networks that make up AT&T Sports Networks (ATTSN) as well as on vendor and other agreements relating to the operation of the ATTSN networks.

Additional criteria:

Affiliate Distribution - responsible for negotiating distribution agreements with new and existing affiliates and actively seeks ways to increase distribution in the territory in support of the distribution strategy, recommending the renewal strategy to the AVP, Affiliate Relations and manages and drives the renewal process in accordance with the agreed strategy. This role is responsible for managing the contract negotiation and coordinates with Legal, Finance, Programming, Content Operations and Sales and other internal stakeholders to achieve timely renewals at budget levels or higher. Ensures contractual compliance and timely tracking of trigger events and requirements (e.g., notices, annual certifications, ad exclusivity notices). Leads analysis in rates and rate comparisons, contract compliance, and competitive game counts. Partners with Finance to forecast annual renewals and ensures balance of renewals in future years. As a member of the corporate team, partners with all other corporate stakeholders to respond to internal queries regarding the affiliate business. Works together with Finance to review trend analysis and identifies issues to be worked out with the affiliates. Provides affiliate input and analysis, including for Outside-in/tiered programming strategy and other ad hoc events.

Digital – assists AVP, Business Affairs and Affiliate Relations on digital distribution initiatives, including being lead on TVE, OTT, social media and other corporate digital initiatives.

Business Affairs – assists AVP, Business Affairs and Affiliate Relations to manage independent contractor, talent, music and other vendor agreements related to the production of live games and operations of the ATTSN networks.

Rights Negotiations & Strategy – assists AVP, Business Affairs and Affiliate Relations on large and more complex negotiations and deals, lead on smaller deals with support from internal stakeholders. Supports the above in developing and implementing strategy for the Team, divided between ensuring existing distribution, seeking incremental distribution opportunities with new or existing affiliates and optimization of economics on all deals.
