Position Summary:

Develop and improve various manufacturing processes for Rotating/Couplings business based on product design & latest machining technologies, working closely with product design engineers, sourcing, quality, vendors, subcontractors and machine manufacturers. Ideal candidate is someone with experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing company/plant with a strong customer focused approach.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate & develop manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, machining, assembly, tooling, inspection and materials; working with internal cross-functional team & equipment vendors; soliciting inputs from operators.


  • Support standardization and complexity reduction in manufacturing and assembly processes.


  • Work in setup reductions and projects addressing OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) to improve product throughput


  • Auditing and recommending latest technologies to improve process capabilities in machining for in-house and, to our vendors and subcontractors.


  • Develop strategical capital investment plan by analyzing internal manufacturing capabilities versus demand, work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.


  • Lead/support Material Cost Out (MCO) and Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) projects.


  • Participate and provide inputs in design reviews of New Product Development (NPD) and Engineered To Order (ETO) products.


  • Support product and manufacturing transfers and restructuring projects.


  • Understand and apply lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, GEMBA and Root Cause Analysis in line with Regal Business System.


  • Lead/support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and Kaizen events.


  • Work with cross functional & leadership team towards achieving business objectives & financial targets by addressing/improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth (SQDCG).


  • Responsible for influencing, training, coaching of less-experienced operators and administration staff.


  • Follow Regal Beloit Ethics and Safety Programs


  • Follow Environmental Compliance Programs


  • Adhere to all export, import and supply chain security policy requirements relevant to the position


  • Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor


Required Education / Experience / Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, advanced degree preferred


  • Minimum 5 years related work experience in an industrial company, preferably in machining industry with high mix and low volume


  • Yellow Belt in Lean / Six Sigma - value stream mapping, TPM, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, GEMBA.


  • Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.


  • Experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP system


  • Ability to coordinate activities and influence others in a cross-functional environment


  • Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision


  • Undertake work in an efficient and timely manner


  • Good project management skills a plus


  • CNC programming experience a plus


  • Customer focus


  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
