Description: Provides professional, technical and administrative leadership in establishing the direction and effectiveness of Management Information Systems.
DIRECTOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS: Assess, administer, plan, and direct activities of the Management Information Services departments by ensuring policies and procedures are in compliance with State and Federal regulations governing health care organizations. Responsible for the administration, supervision, and coordination of interdepartmental communications pertaining to information technology ensuring accurate policy & procedure information is given. Analyzing computer needs, ensuring network security, determining personnel needs, negotiating with vendors for new technology and assessing costs, budgeting, etc. for the organization's information technology and needs. HIPAA SECURITY OFFICER: Oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization's policies and procedures covering the privacy of and access to patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization's privacy practices.
