Visit our career site on the web at https://www.logistics.dhl/us-en/home/careers.html We have an exciting opportunity for a WAREHOUSE MANAGER to strategically manage multiple levels of interaction with internal stakeholders, customers and their freight, suppliers and vendors. In this position you will be the leader of the warehouse operation, responsible for leading a tenured exempt and non-exempt team. The successful candidate will be able to build relationships with union, non-union employees and union business agents while following the union contract. This position is based in our Redondo Beach, CA. location soon to be located in Torrance, CA (405 & 110). Key Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for good working practices, safety, and security for customer inventory
Develops, recommends, and implements process and procedure improvements for service delivery to the customer
Provides customized solutions for customers in the areas of warehousing, inventory control & analysis, transportation, and technical support
Responsible for the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the product and ensures budget targets are met
Manage staff, responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff across numerous shifts (18hour/7 days operation)
Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes
Collaborates with senior management to deliver strategic business results.
Builds collaborative working relationships across groups
Skills / Qualifications:
Experience working in a Union environment strongly preferred
Minimum 10 years management experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Extensive knowledge of the freight forwarding industry
Familiarity with DOT and HAZ regulations
Logistics and/or military experience is preferred
Proficient computer skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
BA or BS Degree preferred
